Overview:

The RF IDeas pcProx PCMCIA is designed for customers seeking to leverage their existing card system for applications beyond physical security. The pcProx PCMCIA reader allows users to populate information into any application running under Windows 2000®, XP®, Vista® or 7®, giving organizations the ability to allow employees to identify themselves with other independent software such as Excel, Access or any application created in-house.

The PCMCIA PC card reader turns a user’s laptop, or any PCMCIA slot equipped operating system into an effective RFID reader. It adds flexibility to connectivity needs by including the technology of RF IDeas’ standard readers into a PCMCIA format. It is designed to provide interchangeability among computers and other devices where ruggedness, low power and small size are critical. The PCMCIA can be easily and quickly installed in any device that has a PCMCIA slot. This reader offers straightforward installation, configuration and the same ease-of-use and flexibility expected with all RF IDeas’ products.

In addition to the PCMCIA housing (shown), an ExpressCard form factor is also available. Using the optional RF IDeas Software Developer’s Kit (SDK), the pcProx family can easily be integrated with most applications.
